Dr. Christine Horner is a board-certified plastic surgeon, author, speaker and advocate for women’s health. Horner is particularly interested in breast cancer prevention and encourages women to be more knowledgeable about alternative and natural health treatments as well as managing stress.
Horner helped in the national effort to force insurers to pay for breast reconstruction surgery following a mastectomy. The Breast Reconstruction Advocacy Project became a bill that was signed into federal law in 1998.
The San Diego resident practices the ancient traditions of Aryuveda, which she says have helped her remain youthful and healthy.
Horner is the author of Waking the Warrior Goddess: Dr. Christine Horner’s Program to Protect Against and Fight Breast Cancer which offers information about nutrition, lifestyle and supplements that can empower women to take preventative measures against breast cancer.
